Hooray you came back!
This week consisted of work, riding and more riding. Oh and new years, happy new year by the way. We rang in the new year with a trainer par-tay with our good friend Meg in the THUNDERDOME a.k.a. our basement fitness studio. New members are always welcome to join us in the no frills, no heat, utility sink hydration station and low ceiling height professional fitness center where only the best are allowed to train.
Following that we adjourned upstairs to play a rousing game of Clue, listened to records on our gramophone and ate pizza while dipping various items in chocolate fondue. After getting boozy and watching some episodes of Parks & Rec. we promptly went to sleep at 12:05. I dare you to top that for a new years celebration.

After taking the previous week down to 5 hrs of training, this week, being well rested, I hit it hard for 13 hours. I rode before work, to work, home from work, after work and on my days off in various combinations. Got my hours in though which is a satisfying feeling. The upcoming week we're dropping back down to 10 hours and will rebuild back to 14 over the next few weeks. The goal is consistent, smart training.
Hey! Did you notice how butt freezing cold it was this week? I did, and the amount of laundry we had to do was definitely a reflection of the low temperatures. Lauren, literally had a laundry day. Literally. I am very grateful for my wife who understands the correlation of temperature to amount of necessary clothing.
This bump in training meant a bump in appetite. Thankfully there are places to quench such insatiable hunger. Word of Mouth Bistro is one such place. Occasionally they surprise you with a random act of yumm-ness, basically they bring you free food and it's amazing. The eggs benedict are velvety and I would literally wait an hour for a table to get them (oh wait, this happened).
XC trip to Mt. Bachelor is in the works, should happen sometime this month. Meanwhile, here are a few frame photos for you.

The goal with these bikes is to keep things classy, practical and fairly easy to replace as needed. I'm also starting to change some of my other bikes over with the same components, tubeless tires, chains, 11 speeds, etc. which will make extra parts easier to swap between bikes and similar for maintenance and adjustment. A watchful eye will start to notice the 'fleet' taking on a similar appearance.
Hope you enjoyed this read, yet again I'll be back next week with another update, until then. Stay warm, be active and tune in next time.
Cheers,
