Oh jeeze, oh jeeze, oh jeeze, here we go... Only 6 days left until our Big Day, a lot has happened since the last post, let's fill you in. Strap in, here we go...
Monday, posted on my blog, rode my bike and went to work
Tuesday, Rode my bike, went to work, did a few errands
Wednesday, rode bike, no work, met with our house sitter to come over while we're away
Thursday, ran errand after errand after errand, cleaned the apartment, did some spring clothes cleaning, rode my bike and confirmed a few things for my new job.
Friday, more errands (this is a freaking long to-do list) Lauren met with the flower people, rode my bike, went to work, went out to dinner
Saturday, first day of my new job starting with a service project at Silver Falls State Park, left early so I could hike out the 3 miles back to my car and make the 1 hr drive back to Tualatin so I can do my last day at work from 1:00 - 9:30 (someone planned that poorly...). Did not ride my bike.
Sunday, Lauren and I woke up super early to watch Ghent-Wevelgem in bed online because it's what cyclists do when the spring classics are going on, we caught the last 40k to the finish. We proceeded to lazily get out of bed, go out to breakfast, then check out my new store in Keizer Station with a short trip to Champoeg State Park (turns out it's a fee park and we had no money so we drove around for a bit until people started giving us funny looks so we left).
Whew! That was quite a whirlwind week, I'm all wrapped up with my old job and officially into my new role. I don't know how exactly this happened but I've got about 2 weeks off including the wedding/honeymoon before I start to open the store and build my new shop. Things are changing around here and it's super exciting. We picked up the final piece to the puzzle at the jewelers and Lauren's engagement ring was soldered together with two white gold bands and resized as her new wedding band, looks awesome and our rings will compliment each other nicely.

We are still riding our bikes, I just completed my 6th ride and Lauren will be even with me once she gets home tonight. For a while she was ahead, but I made sure to catch up. My numbers continue to look pretty good, even though my training volume has decreased significantly with all the hubbub lately. I got a 90 min ride in yesterday, normalized 290 watts with a bit over 2200' of climbing. Today was a bit easier but just over 2 hrs with a normalized power of 268 watts and 3000' of climbing. I'll be riding right up until the wedding, then we take a handful of days off for the first part of our honeymoon before we head to Solvang for our ride camp. Afterwards I'll be coming back in full force ready for some races and aiming hard for some podium spots.
I've always been taught that hard work will always pay off and it looks like I'm starting to see just that. This has been a long twisty, hilly and sometimes scary road to get where we are now but it's finally starting to feel like we've made it and all that hard work and fair play is really worth it.
Alright folks, your next update will be after our wedding so wish us luck and send good thoughts our way. Next time I'll not only be your professional bike mechanic but a certified husband as well!
Here's a link to our wedding website, be sure to check it out, there's some photo galleries, links to our vendors and some tidbits about how Lauren & I met. Enjoy!!

Until next week, same bike time, same bike channel.
Cheers,
