Welcome back to your favorite addictive blog! This week has been on the upswing (finally,) Lauren and I are over our colds and back on the bike. The weather has been cold but deceivingly sunny, I picked up a new TT bike until we get things figured out with my old one. Work has been slow which lets me get in some good training, however that hurts the pocketbook so it looks like we may be buying a bit more from the bulk food bins than usual this month. Anyhoo, there's your update and now for the exciting stuff.
.......(**insert prolonged pause for dramatic effect**)....
The 2014 racing season is upon us with Jack Frost TT kicking off on February 23rd. I'm anticipating a full racing calendar this year with lots of opportunities to get points. On that note, here's the latest: for 2014 I will be switching flags and flying under the new colors of English Cycles! I also have an order for (so does Lauren) one of his bikes. The team is small but packs quite a big punch in the local racing scene and I'm excited to be part of it (plus, the kit is super pro and looks awesome) Rob and Lee are super nice guys and I believe it's going to be a good fit for me.
My custom English bike is tailored to be a thoroughbred racing steed, without going completely over the top but maintaining some of Rob's artistic flare it should be one beautiful machine (in matching team colors of course, which coincidentally happen to be quite similar to our wedding colors).
Speaking of wedding, we are 3 short months away from the "big day," things are falling into place and we are only needing to make final adjustments and decisions (keep in mind this is 2 years in the making). Our theme is no stress, simple with a wisp of hippie for good measure. Our mini honeymoon trip to Solvang, California also has us motivated to train and get super fit for our ride camp (dang we're excited). This trip should be a good test run for our big adventure to France next year (hopefully) we can get an idea what it's like to travel with our bike stuff, bikes will be provided to us but we bring saddle, shoes, pedals, helmets, etc.
Well folks, that's about it for now, my TT bike should be arriving today and I'm going to spend the next week dialing in the fit, I'll have pictures of it fully setup next week. Until next time, keep the rubber side down!!
