Well that week sucked. 12 hrs on the trainer and I'm spent. This week is cut short by wedding planning but I'm still pedaling as much as I can.
The night before I'm supposed to head down to Eugene for a mini training camp I decided there were a few too many chores at home being left undone, so I cancelled the trip. Turns out that next day we get drowned by snow and the world as we know it was suddenly shut down. It took Lauren 7hrs to get home from work due to the apocalypse. Thankfully I had a few days off to further solidify my commitment to the bike gods. In turn they punish me with crappy roads and relentless rain ( I surprised them with a new rain jacket and served my penance). Onward and upward right?
Regarding the wedding front it's 6 weeks out; we're all wrapped up and everything is accounted for. There are only a couple items left on my todo list: find dark brown shoelaces, buy a belt (not because I need one but I'm told its fashionable with a suit), plan some sort of bachelor bike ride hammer fest thing and attempt to exert my dominance among my fellow riders. BOOM!
Moving on, the first test of power is all set for Jack Frost TT on the 23rd of this month. I'm still dialing in my tt position and weight distribution on the bike. Hopefully I'll have it by my start time (I'd estimate I'm 75% there). These next few weeks I anticipate will be a bit tough for training but I'm determined to keep my volume up and stay consistent. All the final details for the "big day," perhaps a change in jobs (more later) and making sure I get time off to race. Lots of moving pieces to this puzzle but my upgrade WILL happen this year.
Well folks that's about all for now, hopefully no more snow an some nicer weather will be upon us soon. Check back next week, same bike time; same bike channel.
Cheers,
-Andrew-
P.S. Anyone know how to write wedding vows???
